I have worked in the ACE industry for about 2 years and have used BIM software a lot in that process. BIM has also proven to be a large component in my senior design project as I've used it to help facilitate that design process using the information it gathers as you design the building.
My expectation for this class is to get a better idea how to integrate technologies into the design process to be used in a professional and practical application. Not only do I find this interesting but it will also make me an employee with a specific skill set and knowledge that I can bring to the companies I work at.
I found an article about the use of Dynamo with BIM (HERE) that is something I'm very interested in. This can help simplify workflow in Revit which would make my job much easier and more efficient.
My initial definition of an intelligent building is as follows:
"An intelligent building is one that uses data and information measured and monitored to control the operation of building elements. This includes lighting, hvac, maintenance, and power."
